India made history in the second Asian doubles squash championships by securing hat-trick of gold medals in men’s doubles, women’s doubles, and mixed doubles — a feat never achieved before by the nation in any of the Asian or World doubles squash championship.

The duo of Abhay Singh and Velavan Senthilkumar defeated Pakistan’s Noor Zaman and Nasir Iqbal 9-11, 11-5, 11-5 in 88 minutes in men’s doubles final. In women’s doubles, the Joshna Chinappa and Anahat Singh pair overcame Amani and Xin Ying Yee (Malaysia), the top seed, 8-11, 11-9, 11-10 in an hour and five minutes.

Abhay Singh and Anahat Singh scripted a 11-9, 11-7 win over Malaysia’s Ameeshenraj Chandran & Rachel Arnold 11-9, 11-7 to bag the mixed doubles crown.
