India made history in the second Asian doubles squash championships by securing a hat-trick of gold medals in men’s doubles, women’s doubles, and mixed doubles — a feat never achieved before by the nation in any of the Asian or World doubles squash championship.

Abhay Singh and Velavan Senthilkumar defeated Pakistan’s Noor Zaman and Nasir Iqbal 9-11, 11-5, 11-5 in 88 minutes in the men’s title clash while in the women’s final, Joshna Chinappa and Anahat overcame top seeds Amani and Xin Ying Yee of Malaysia 8-11, 11-9, 11-10 in an hour and five minutes.

Abhay and Anahat Singh scripted a 11-9, 11-7 win over Malaysia’s Ameeshenraj Chandran and Rachel Arnold 11-9, 11-7 to bag the mixed doubles crown.
