A day after helping India claim the men’s team title, Rishabh Yadav, Aman Saini and Prathamesh Fuge saw their individual journey ending in the quarterfinals of the World archery championships in Gwangju, Korea, on Monday (September 8, 2025).
Resuming their campaigns, the Indians won their respective pre-quarterfinal clashes. Fuge hogged the limelight by scoring a perfect 150 and upsetting World No.1 Dutchman Mike Schloesser by a point.
In the quarterfinals, Rishabh put up a strong fight against Nicolas Girard before the Frenchman won 146-145 on the last shot.
Fuge gave World No.2 Mathias Fullerton a run for his money but lost 148-148 (9-10) via shoot-off.
Saini dropped points in four out of five ends as Curtis Broadnax bagged the contest 147-144.
In the women’s individual, V. Jyothi Surekha, Parneet Kaur and Prithika Pradeep reached the pre-quarterfinals to stay in medal contention.
